Website User Behavior — Linking Strategies

I shall now describe how user’s behavior drives linking strategies.  It is supposed that the user starts viewing sites from some casual page. Then he or she goes after links to previous web resources. There is at all times a possibility that the user may go away from a site without following any outbound link and start viewing documents from an unsystematic page. The PageRank algorithm approximates the odds of this event as 0.15 at every step. The probability that certain user continues surfing by following one of the links available on the current page is therefore 0.85, assuming that all links are equal in this case. If he or she continues surfing for an indefinite period, well-liked pages will be visited a lot of times not as much of the not so popular pages.

The PageRank of a precise web page is hence defined as the chance that a user may visit the web page. It follows that, the amount of probabilities for all active web pages is accurately one since the user is assumed to be visiting at slightest one Internet page at some given moment.

Because it is not for all time handy to work with these probabilities the PageRank can be mathematically altered into a more easily understood figure for viewing. For example, we are used to considering a PageRank number between zero and ten on the Google Toolbar.

According to the ranking model described above:

- Each SEO Content page on the Net (even if there are no inbound links to it) initially has a PageRank greater than zero, although it will be very small. There is a small opportunity that a user may unintentionally navigate to it.

- PageRank A “damping factor” is functional to this process so that the full distributed page rank is condensed by 15%. This is corresponding to the SEO Content probability, described above, that the user will not visit any of the linked-to pages but will navigate to an unrelated website

The PageRank algorithm “pushes up” those SEO Content documents that are generally accepted outside the search engine as well.
